Things to do

Campfire Cooking

We have campfire cooking at its best!  When evening approaches, put on your jumpers and boots and bring your deck chair!  We have a communal campfire weekly in the evening for those wishing to join us. Lots of yarns and fun for all. You can also use your own private campfire in the designated rings provided at your campsite.

Admire the Creek and Dams

During the wet season we have a beautiful creek that runs through the property as well as several dams that provide canoeing activities.

Bird Watching

We have resident possums and kookaburras echoing their laughing call throughout the bush camp. We also have many other bird species such as the beautifully coloured lorikeet, magpies, cockatiels and more.

Picnics

There’s plenty of room to find your hideaway for a romantic picnic or join some friends for a noisy and fun picnic with the kids and perhaps a game of cricket along the creek flats!

Bike Riding

Experience the thrill of mountain biking through some of Queensland’s pretty rural country.  Stick to the roads or depending on your biking skills, try an all terrain adventure down some of the hills, dodging rocks, logs and potholes!  All forms of riding are possible as long as you have the right gear.

We recommend the following if you are bike riding:

  • A good quality helmet is essential.
  • Spare inner tubes or puncture repair kit, pump, tool kit.
  • Mountain bike shoes and clipless pedals are recommended.
  • Full large water bottle per person and some snacks.
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen (30+) and insect repellant.
  • Clothes to suit the activity and potential weather conditions
  • Binoculars and camera (optional).
  • Compass, pen and paper.
  • Map and guide book where suggested.
  • Plastic bag to remove all your rubbish.
  • Whistle (for emergencies, six short blasts per minute).
  • Pocket knife (useful for cutting cheese at lunch time!).
  • Medical kit with: heavy crepe bandage (for sprains and snake bite), antiseptic lotion, insect repellent (non aerosol), personal medication (including pain killers), blister kit.

Sorry no motorbikes as they would take away the tranquil setting of our bush camp!
